These Past Weeks in the Library: April 14 - May 9

Back  from Spring break! The library has been extremely busy the past few weeks due to State Testing (Smarter Balanced Assessment Pilot Test).  The library at Sherwood is used as a test location for students who need a more quiet venue, as well as, students who need special accommodations such as scribes.  Classes have been continuing during non-testing times, so our schedule has been varied every week.

Intermediate Classes (Gr. 4-6): Are preparing for a picture book battle of the books.  Students are working together in cooperative groups to read the set of picture books.  They are focusing on character, setting, plot, and other literary elements.  We will have class battles after state testing is complete.

Primary Classes (Gr. K-3): Have heard a variety of stories the past few weeks: "Tale of Ticky Fox", "Library Lil", and "Brave Charlotte" to name a few.

Preschool Program: Little Eaglets has continued at it's regular time (Thursday afternoons at 3:30). Recent readers have included: Mrs. LeCompte, Mrs. Hanson, and Mrs. Larson.  Next week's Reader (5/15) is learning support teacher, Mrs. Collins.  If you haven't joined us, feel free to stop in!
