This Week in the Library: January 27-31

Go Seahawks!

Kel Gilligan Kindergarten, Grade 2 & 3

This week's Washington Children's Choice Picture Book was "Kel Gilligan's Dare Devil Stunt Show" by Michael Buckley.  Kel is probably 2 or 3 and does some terrifying stunts: eating broccoli, dressing himself, taking a bath.  We talked about the words: daredevil, terrifying, and professional.  Kel has a great imagination!

 1st Grade & Mrs. Cook's Kindergarten:

We read “A Place for Bats” by Melissa Stewart.  See last week's post for more information and web links!

 4th Grade

Continued working on putting books in order using the Dewey Decimal System.  This week we sorted call numbers to the hundredths place.  Next week we will add numbers to the thousandths place.  Dewey Information Review

 5th Grade

Continued working on determining fact and opinion.  Students are being asked not only to decide whether a statement is a fact or an opinion, but also what word makes it an opinion and what source could be used to prove a fact is true.

6th Grade

We reviewed finding information from a table.  This week's table had information about past Super Bowl winners.
