Primary Classes (K-3)The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba & Bryan Mealer was our Washington Children's Choice Picture Book this week. The picture book tells the true story of William and how he brought electricity to his village in Malawi (small nation in southern Africa). Students learned about drought and following your dreams. 4th Grade
Working on putting books in Dewey order by whole number. We are trying to understand how information is organized and how we can find classified (non-fiction) books in our library and most other libraries. A little math was thrown in too!
5th Grade
Working on distinguishing between fact and opinion. We learned that while facts could be true or false, they are able to be proven. Opinions can not be proven.
6th Grade
We reviewed finding information on charts. Students we reminded to look at the title and column headings before skimming the information. We discussed how you can use information found on charts in your research.
